Hi, My name is Maya Chacra and I am a registered dietitian specialized in Clinical Nutrition. Dietitians aren’t the food police who are always judging your plate. The role of food in preventing and treating illnesses such as heart disease, obesity and diabetes … is now well known. Our job is to support people from different walks of life on their journey to better health and wellbeing. My approach is simple, despite all the new types of diet that are trending these days, a well-balanced diet is always my first choice. My main concern is your health and wellbeing not only your weight. I advise people what to eat in order to lead a healthy lifestyle or achieve a specific health-related goal. Each healthy diet plan is tailored and customized to the individual needs of each patient including diet, physical activity, supplements and support. The best part of my job is definitely seeing the impact that nutrition can have and the positive changes on people’s lives – whether it is weight gain, weight loss, improving health, or feeling better and having more energy.
